I am an Assistant Professor in the War Gaming Department at the US Naval War College and an Officer in the Navy Reserve.

I hold a Ph.D. in Political Science from Northeastern University, an M.A. in International Relations and Religion from Boston University, and a B.A. in Political Science and History from Boston University.

My research focuses on terrorist tactics and strategies, irregular warfare, and information warfare. My work has been published in Newsweek, USA Today, Democracy & Security, Terrorism and Political Violence, Studies in Conflict and Terrorism, the Oxford Research Encyclopedia of International Studies, as well as in books on irregular warfare and terrorism.
